First Day of School
Wednesday, August 26th
Arrive at School 8:15
- Junior High Students report to the Corpus Christ Office to receive your class schedule cards.
- High School Students report to the Gym to receive your class schedule cards.
- Once you have your schedule all students should report to the Gym for the opening school assembly. PLEASE NOTE: some changes may have been made to your schedule, please follow the schedule that is on your card.
- 1st DAY IS 3PM DISMISSAL!!
What to Bring on the First Day?
- Backpack with Notebook/Paper, Pens/Pencils, File Folder for handouts
- Lunch (No hot lunch will be sold until Monday, August 31st))
Important Reminders for Drop off and Pick up and for our Student Drivers
We have to remember that we are in the middle of a neighborhood, and therefore we want to be respectful of our neighbors. There are a couple of things that we ask of you to help make picking up your children a smoother experience for everyone.
- Please communicate with your children the night before on when and where you will be picking them up. As you will notice, there will be a lot of kids outside at once, so if they know when to expect you, then hopefully they will be ready to jump in.
- When pulling into the parking lot, please pull all the way forward to the beginning of the lot.
- We know it may take a minute for your child to find you and get in, however, if part of your carpool has to go find the other children, then we ask you to be considerate to the long line behind you and circle around. When the flow comes to a dead stop, our school traffic completely blocks Maple street which is not good. We want to stay on good terms with our neighbors.
- Please, never park your car in the carpool line and come into the school. If you have to come in, we ask you to park in a parking space or down the street.
- Please DO NOT drop off or pick up your children in the adjacent streets. Not only does this hold up the traffic, but more importantly, it is unsafe to have kids crossing the streets in the middle of traffic.
- Please speak to your kids about looking before they run in front of the cars in the parking lot.
- Drop off should not be made before 7:45am. The first bell always rings by 8:15.
Start of the School Year Announcement from our Director
Dear Seton Community,
I pray that we have all experienced a restful and peaceful summer and are reinvigorated and ready for the 2026-2027 school year. Over the summer a great deal of work has been done by Mr. Scheetz, the Pogue family, the Witter family, the Hamblelton family and the Judge family to prepare the campus for this coming Wednesday, and the start of a new school year. Seton graduates Scott and Marcus Volpert and Mic Fioramonti have been laboring to have our HVAC system functioning properly.
Mrs. Alicia Salas, our Academic Dean, and all the Department Chairpersons have been working within their departments in response to parent and student feedback to fine tune the course material being taught at Seton. Yesterday, Mrs. Pogue directed the school and class government student members in further cleaning and setting up classrooms. We have a few last minute items to tackle, but generally things are looking great. May God reward the students, staff, and volunteers who have generously blessed our community with their time and talents.
This year the students have chosen to focus developing the virtue of patience. Father Gabriel of St. Mary Magdalen, O.C.D. defines patience as: “ the virtue which makes us accept for love of God, generously and peacefully, everything that is displeasing to our nature.” Practicing the virtue of patience requires self–denial and persevering trust in God, that His plan will unfold for us and we are only to continue to love Him. St. Catherine of Siena writes ““God said: I have placed you in the midst of your fellows so that you may do to them what you cannot do to Me – that is, so that you may love your neighbor freely without expecting any return from him. And what you do to him I count as done to Me.”
As we all strive to grow in patience, we recall that God has especially chosen those with whom we interact daily; family, friends, coworkers, and community as a gift to each of us to allow us the opportunity to grow in all virtues. Let us, this year, endeavor to be more patient than we think we are able to be. Let us remember to have reasonable expectations of ourselves and others, try to understand one another’s point of view, be mindful of our thoughts and or reactions. Let us choose words and deeds that demonstrate our love for Jesus. Let this year be the year that we remain mindful of God’s patience with us as we struggle to imitate His charity with those he has placed in our lives.
You are all in the staff and faculty’s prayers and we look forward to seeing all of you at Seton soon.

A Message from Our Executive Director
WELCOME to Seton’s 52nd year. We begin a spiritual initiative which will bring many graces to our school. We will become a Scriptural Rosary School as Mr. Pennefather described in a Jupiter Ed message sent earlier in the summer. The religion classes will begin each day with a decade of the Rosary including a brief Scriptural meditation before each Hail Mary. Schools throughout the country have found this practice to bring many blessings to the school as a whole, the students, the faculty, and the families. We expect that the same graces will flow to the Seton community.
Fr. Jim Kelleher, who promotes the Scriptural Rosary School apostolate, with be at Seton on Friday, August 28, to say Mass and to speak to the religion classes about the apostolate. Parents and friends are welcome to attend the Mass, which will be the usual time, 11:20 AM.
Holy Trinity Parish is sponsoring a one-day retreat by Fr. Kelleher, “The Rosary Is My Spiritual Weapon,” on Saturday, August 29, 9:30 AM-4:00 PM. For more information visit the website at ourladyofcorpuschristi.org or email retreat@ourladyofcc.org.
PHONE POLICY: By now you should have received a mailing including a fund appeal letter (see announcement elsewhere in the Sentinel) and the phone policy agreement giving a student permission to have a phone on campus. Please be sure that your student understands and agrees to obey the cell phone policy. For some students, it will be a sacrifice to obey the policy and refrain from having their phone powered on during school hours. But sacrifices strengthen character and enable a person to resist other temptations. Honestly signing their names to the agreement is a sign of personal integrity and mature judgment. Parents, if you need to contact your student during the school day, please call the office. The office staff will deliver the message or get the student out of class if the matter is urgent.
IMPORTANT ARTICLE: A recent scientific study concluded that ”handwriting but not typewriting leads to widespread brain connectivity.” The “brain connectivity patterns were far more elaborate than when typewriting on a keyboard.” These patterns “are crucial for memory formation and for encoding new information.” The authors “urge that children, from an early age, must be exposed to handwriting activities.” HERE is a link to the entire detailed article, complete with statistics. (This is not beach reading, unless you are a statistician or neuroscientist or have ambitions in that direction.)
Seton Standards of Dress/Hair Requirements
The start of our 52nd school year is right around the corner! As our students grow into mature Christian young adults, we encourage them to grow in personal discipline; both spiritual and physical. Please take a moment to check:
– Does everyone’s shoes and uniform still fit? (the uniform closet in Corpus Christi is well stocked), Click HERE for the NEW SHOE POLICY.
– Does hair meet Seton requirements – refer to the Seton Handbook, Chapter VIII, Click HERE for the Handbook.
– Gentlemen are to be clean shaven with shirts tucked,
– Seton is a “no-phone zone” with no cell phone use bell to bell and only supervised use at other times. Face to face encounters are better than face to screen, refer to the Cell Phone Policy in the Handbook.
– Students are encouraged to make a habit of regular visits to the Seton Chapel and encounter our loving Lord.
