Pentagon Chapter Regent Nancy Hill presented certificates and Pentagon Chapter challenge coins to Rebekah DeWolf and Theresa Clare McGrath on 12 April for their participation in the annual DAR American History Essay Contest.
This year’s essay topic “Celebrating a Century: America’s National Parks,” marked the 100th Anniversary of the National Park Service. Theresa’s essay on Mammoth Cave National Park was selected as the Pentagon Chapter winner. Her essay competed and won the VADAR District V essay contest. In addition to a certificate, Theresa received a bronze medal for excellence in history, and a stipend from the Chapter.
